Final retainers are customized appliances that will hold your teeth in place, and are given to the patient after the braces have been removed.  These are usually passive retainers.

For active treatment retainers, Zammit Orthodontics uses an in-house lab to minimize your turn around time and also provide you with a more customized experience. Patients will have the option to create their own custom designs and select from a range of colors. Whether you want something colorful and stylish or something a little less noticable, we can meet your requirements.

Looking After Your Retainers

We will do everything we can to ensure you get the perfect smile you want as quickly as possible. At the same time, the end result also relies on your ability to look after retainers and follow our instructions. To ensure the best outcome, here are a few tips:

• Follow the instructions given to you by Dr. Zammit – wear them when necessary to prevent shifting or movement
• Remove your retainers while eating and use the retainer case you will have been given
• Brush and Clean your retainers thoroughly twice a day
• Keep your retainers away from any hot water or anything else hot that could cause damage, especially your pets
• Give them time! It can take a little while for you to adjust to your new retainers and it may be difficult to speak at first.
